Gallery Walk

Today we read about the Hopewell people (content area reading).  The question I posed was, "What were the Hopewell People like?"  As they read, they jotted notes on sticky notes that helped them with comprehension.  Then, with a partner, they created a poster to answer the posed question using words and pictures.  The next task will be to take a "Gallery Walk" and examine the other posters about the Hopewell Indians.  My students will then jot notes about what they liked and what was unclear or what they wanted to know more about.  I am excited for them to do the Gallery Walk tomorrow!  I think this strategy will really help them compare their thoughts and comprehend the text more fully.
